In Race 1 of the WorldSSP class at the 2025 WSBK Emilia-Romagna round, French rider Valentin Debise, riding for Chinese manufacturer Zhangxue Motorcycle, claimed victory, marking a historic breakthrough for a Chinese brand in the championship.

On June 13, 2025, at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy, the first race of the WorldSSP class at the Emilia-Romagna round of the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) concluded with a landmark victory. French rider Valentin Debise, representing Chinese manufacturer Zhangxue Motorcycle, took the top step of the podium, delivering a historic first win for a Chinese brand in the series. The Misano circuit, known for its fast corners and undulating layout, posed a demanding challenge for both rider and machine. Debise started strongly and made a decisive overtake on lap three, after which he controlled the race from the front, crossing the finish line 1.2 seconds ahead of the runner-up. This victory is Zhangxue Motorcycle's first since joining WSBK in 2024 and a monumental achievement for Chinese motorsport. Zhangxue Motorcycle, a relatively new player in the industry, has invested heavily in R&D and racing programs. The winning bike is powered by a homegrown 800cc twin-cylinder engine producing over 140 horsepower, paired with an advanced electronic control system. The team's technical director attributed the success to meticulous setup work tailored to Misano's characteristics and the seamless synergy between rider and machine. An elated Debise said in the post-race interview: "This is one of the most important wins of my career. I thank Zhangxue for giving me such a competitive bike, and the entire team for their hard work. Chinese manufacturing is changing the landscape of world motorcycle racing." The 28-year-old Frenchman, who previously rode for several European teams, joined Zhangxue in 2024 and has since become a regular podium contender. Zhangxue's triumph is part of a broader trend of Chinese manufacturers making inroads into international motorsport. Brands like CFMoto and Qianjiang have also achieved notable results in Moto3 and WSBK. This victory underscores the growing competitiveness of Chinese engineering in the high-end motorcycle segment. Industry observers believe that continued success on the track could reshape the global motorcycle market dynamics. The Emilia-Romagna round is a highlight of the WSBK calendar, held in Italy's motorcycle heartland. Winning here not only validates Zhangxue's technical prowess but also significantly boosts its brand image. The company has announced plans to step up to the premier WorldSBK class by 2026, and this result provides strong momentum for that ambition. Following Race 1, Debise now sits third in the WorldSSP standings with 98 points, just 12 behind the leader. Race 2 is scheduled for June 14, and Zhangxue Motorcycle will aim to build on this success as they chase the season title.
